It’s really no shock that I turned out to be a fine-art pet photographer. Since birth, I’ve been destined to go into some fine-arts path: my parents took me to every gallery opening and museum in the Tri-State area. In fact, my first word was “picture”! But being a photographer wasn’t really my first choice, I admit. When I was 4, I really wanted to be a cat; at 5, a dog. Not surprisingly, those two career paths didn’t quite play out the way I’d originally hoped.
I absolutely love animals, and photography, and travel. I’m extremely lucky that my job lets me work with all three. My husband and I currently live in Rome, Italy (due to a great stroke of luck!), and we’re working with international pet clients, meeting great new people, and traveling every chance we get. And of course – shooting, shooting, shooting!
Most importantly, I’m looking forward to meeting all of you at PSD (or sooner, on Facebook!)

Top Ten Things You Should Know About Me:
• The first word I learned to spell was Czechoslovakia. This skill has since proved useless.
• I got into photography when I started working at a photo lab. Peer pressure made me buy my first camera!
• I have a very twisted sense of humor. I’m unapologetic about that.
• Almost all animals are welcome at my studio… except scorpions!
• My Italian is still surprisingly terrible. One of my Italian clients booked me out of pity for saying “Your spoon is cute”… Cucchiaio is spoon. Cucciolo is puppy. I meant the latter.
• I’ve visited nine countries in the past year. Love me some discount European airlines!
• My husband is a Naval Officer. We relocate a lot. We’ve lived in 8 addresses in the past 10 years.
• My dad is the first Hustler cartoonist. Yeah, you read that right. (Refer to item #3)
• My idea of “relaxing” is reading marketing and business books.
• Fact, not opinion: My Shetland Sheepdog, Hailey, is the most awesome dog ever. So there!
